CI circles are group sessions of self exploration, where participants experience the Compassionate Inquiry approach developed by Dr. Gabor Mate, and explore different themes such as connecting with the wisdom of the body, knowing your triggers, expressing authenticity, addressing own needs, self compassion, seeing the poasibility in you, etc. The sessions are not webinars or intellectual discusions, but rather deep powerful opportunities for healing. I can’t find enough words to express how much I I can’t find enough words to express how much I enjoyed this book. 
Struggling with PCOS, Hashimoto’s, insulin resistance, inflamation, this book spoke a language I can understand. 
I was able to make sense of my experience wihout judging myself. 
Connecting with the body is not new to me, as I’ve been exploring the impact of developmental trauma on my body for a couple of years, but now I also have a bit of understanding of what happens at a molecular level as well. And this comes with excitement, self acceptance & motivation. Looking forward to applying the hacks described in this book. Thank you @glucosegoddess for sharing your knowledge with us and translating it into a language that it’s easier to understand.

But it also comes with the freedom of separating yourself from inherited history. We are pleased to announce that applications are n We are pleased to announce that applications are now open for the next round of Compassionate Inquiry Circles, which will be starting online in April, 2022. 
Compassionate Inquiry Circles are interactive, facilitated, experiential group sessions that introduce participants to key concepts and practices in Compassionate Inquiry, and initiate the process of Self-Inquiry. They are open to the public. 
CI Circle Leaders will guide groups of 8-18 circle participants through an orientation session followed by an 9-week series focused on a different inquiry each week consisting of key questions. These questions help participants to experience and express what is true for them in the present moment, while simultaneously bringing awareness to what obstructs authentic expression. Participants will be encouraged to reflect and journal each week, and to share their experiences and insights in their group. The Compassionate Inquiry Circles are based on the work of Dr. Gabor Maté, developed by Sat Dharam Kaur ND.
Applications are open until March 10 2021. Circles will begin the week of April 4 2022.

I love life stories. I guess this is one of the reasons I decided to become a therapist. When I’m in the car as a passenger, I often times try to imagine who lived behind an old door I pass by. Whose lives unfolded there. 
But what I am most curious about is how one’s survival style influenced their life’s path and what was their breakthrough awakening moment of deciding to live outside those coping mechanisms, of seeing the truth of who they really are.
“Something bad happens to us, and we decide we’re never going to let that happen again. But in order to prevent it, we have to be a certain way. We choose the behaviors that we believe will deliver safety, stability and love. And we repeat them, over and over again. In the movies, we call it a character; in real life, we call it personality. How we decide to respond to our fears, that is the person we become. I decided to be funny”. @willsmith

Yalom spunea ca, cu cat viata este mai netraita, cu atat mai mare este anxietatea fata de moarte. Fiecare sfarsit de an e un prilej de introspectie: oare cat de mult ti-ai trait viata? Ce ai face daca ai sti ca mai ai putin de trait? Ce este prioritar in viata ta?

De multe ori, in spatele emotiei pe care o simtim De multe ori, in spatele emotiei pe care o simtim in mod obisnuit in anumite situatii  mai este o alta. 
De exemplu, daca atunci cand suntem mici si simtim furie, ni se spune ca nu avem voie sa fim furiosi sau din contra suntem pedepsiti, adultul rupe conexiunea/contactul sau devine mai furios decat noi, ajungem sa o inhibam. Invatam ca respectiva emotie e “rea”, “face ravagii”, ne provoaca frica. 
Asa ca, in loc sa protestam atunci cand poate nu ne este adresata o nevoie in mod constant, suntem tristi, ne deconectam ne noi insine, intram mai degraba intr-o stare de inghet, de renuntare. 
Asa ca simtim acea emotie “default” care se vede prima data: plangem cu usurinta, suntem tristi. Insa in spate este si multa furie, acel protest care nu a fost primit, protest pe care l-am internalizat si directionat catre noi insine (auto-critica, judecata de sine, respingere de sine). 

Ce emotie simti/exprimi cu usurinta? Si ce e in spatele ei? 

Papusile terapeutice au rolul de a-ti arata si alte parti din tine pe care poate nu le vezi uneori sau ti-e greu sa le exprimi. Le poti folosi si cu copiii tai sau chiar in procesele de terapie/coaching.
